The HouseMe Advantage: Fixed Pricing & Accurate Delivery Lead Times
It is fair to say that there is still a little bit of uncertainty in the Residential Building and Construction industry. Anyone you talk to in the residential sector will say that they’re wrestling with the supply chain, and builders are struggling to price jobs accurately due to the never-ending cost increases. We are hearing the same murmurs from smaller Tiny Home operators.
These issues can affect the customer’s ability to organise finance with the bank, plan, and schedule the work.
If you don’t know how much the job will cost or when it can be completed, it’ll hinder any progress, and the proposed project will come to a complete stand-still.
This may be a hidden concern when considering buying a HouseMe unit, however, we hope to put your mind at ease and give you the confidence to build with HouseMe today.
We are regularly being asked two essential questions:
- How are your materials and supply chain going?
A strong order book of 180+ units put us in a strong position to buy the necessary materials well in advance. We are full steam ahead with no concerns, and our factory has yet to come to a halt.
Our supplier relationships are very, very strong and our Supply Chain Team is undoubtedly some of the most competent in the industry. The HouseMe team have a strong background in manufacturing are solely focused on managing material flow.
Traditional Tiny Home builders use a lot of timber and 'gib' to complete their customer projects. It is not hard to miss the subject in the media as these materials have now become New Zealand’s main material of concern due to the industry experiencing significant shortages and alarming price increases.
Here at HouseMe, we use New Zealand-made Colorsteel EPS Thermopanel, and apart from the structural ply flooring, we don’t use any raw wood in our builds. It appears that this is now becoming a huge competitive advantage and we can give our customers peace of mind when building with HouseMe. Like all businesses, we experience the odd speed bump along the journey but are certainly not wondering when the next material shipment will arrive.
We have held a 14-16 week lead time for most of 2022, and we continue to provide our customers with accurate delivery time frames.
- What about the cost increases – Will the price change after we buy?
Our promise to you is that we will lock in a fixed-price build. Guided you take possession of your unit in the agreed time frame, the price of the unit on the Sales Agreement is the final price you'll pay.
We are hearing many stories where traditional residential builders have to implement clauses in their contracts to allow for cost increases during the build. This makes it nearly impossible for the customer to budget and plan around the build.
HouseMe will absorb any cost increase, which gives you peace of mind that you can budget accordingly and not stress over the final price.
In conclusion, with HouseMe, you will know exactly what you’re getting, and when you’re getting it.
